Season’s Greetings and Happy Holidays! I hope you had a great 2018 and you are preparing to have an extraordinary 2019.
Speaking of ending 2018 and planning for 2019, during the Holiday break I received an email titled “Help With A Kid to Get to Yale?” When I first saw the title of the email, I assumed it was a request for money. Given that the cost of attending Yale is a few hundred dollars short of $70,000 per year (Tuition & Fees $53,430 and Room & Board 16,000), I was prepared to give the email a quick look before hitting the SPAM button.
I figured the email had to be junk or it was from some irrational person. After all, what person of sound mind or any familiarity with who I am would ever send me an email to request that I help pay for some random kid to attend Yale? I didn’t pay for my son to attend Yale and I love him to death. So those of you who know me, know that it goes without saying, there is no way that I would be contributing to this stranger’s Yale collection plate.
GOOD SAMARITAN
The expression ‘reading is fundamental’ remains accurate. Upon reading the email, I realized that the sender of the email was not writing to ask for money. Also, not only was the writer sound of mind but she is both a mother and a good Samaritan.
As it turns out, the sender wanted to know if I would also be a good Samaritan and spend some time meeting with her, her son, and the young man who wants to attend Yale. I agreed to meet and gently voluntold Naeem’s participation.
Meeting the good Samaritan mother and the two young men was a joy. I have photos from our meeting that I’m going to hashtag on social media “No Perspiration, All Inspiration.”
NO PERSPIRATION, ALL INSPIRATION
If you’re curious why I would hashtag the meeting “no perspiration, all inspiration,” the answer is relatively straightforward. I’m generally perspiration-free and happy to help others particularly children who deserve a chance to maximize their potential and realize their dreams. Fortunately, this appointment was nothing like the many one-sided meetings I was invited to attend in 2018. My presence was not requested merely to give; incredibly this time I received more than
I left the encounter inspired. As Naeem and I drove off, I was downright giddy. The meeting inspired me to write a little bit different in 2019.
Don’t worry; I’m never going to stop asking us to be the best versions of ourselves or live up to the societal mandate to leave the planet better than it was when we arrived. Giving our best daily and improving the earth are nonnegotiable humanity directives that are probably more necessary today than at any time in human history. As such, The Raising Supaman Project’s mission will always be “to change the world, one parent, one child at a time.”
THE PROCESS
However, this year, I’m going to write with a slightly more directed focus. In 2019, you’ll get access to the steps required to “Help With A Kid to Get to Yale,” Carnegie Mellon University’s Doctoral Program, the dream school of your child’s choosing, or what they deem their best life.
While I cannot promise a panacea to guarantee college admission or a magic elixir securing career readiness, I will share the exact steps used first to provide my son admission offers to 27 of America’s best colleges and universities and 7 of America’s best Engineering Graduate Programs. I believe that if you pay attention, you will glean valuable insight from a process that continues to help countless others live their best life.
RATED EVERYONE
You won’t want to miss a single 2019 post. It won’t matter if you are a parent unsure of how to help your child attend their dream school or if you are a parent of a high achieving student who is just looking for a ‘Lil Something Extra’ to differentiate your child from the tens of thousands of high achieving exceptionally qualified college applicants, this year’s posts will be must-read. Even if you are not a parent, you’re still going to want to read and share each 2019 post because the process I’m going to share will be so much more than just some method for academic success.
In truth, we call our process the “Life TemplateTM.” Notwithstanding the fact that most of you are already perfect and currently living your best life, I bet you are familiar with a person or two who could benefit from a proven strategy that enables anyone to be better today than yesterday, and better tomorrow than right now.
So if you care about something greater than yourself, please read and share every 2019 post for the rest of us. Thank you!
Stay tuned and Happy New Year!
